One year. One hundred burgers. A quest that started out as a hobby, became an obsession, and has slowly transformed into a lifestyle. How much burger is too much burger? If there is such a thing, we'll let you know.

Somewhere over the rainbow ... Burgers will be this good?

The Meat: 85% lean ground chuck
The Cheese: Vermont Cheddar, Swiss, Pepper Jack, or American
The Bun: Sesame seed bun

Veselka is the ultimate example of why it’s not ok to judge a restaurant by its façade. While its décor doesn’t attract passersby with strong electromagnetic force, this restaurant boasts delicious Ukrainian fare – and a seriously exceptional burger. Veselka is a no-frills kind of place – and one of the happiest places I’ve ever seen in New York City.

The burger is an apt reflection of the restaurant’s atmosphere. There are no fancy-shmancy accoutrements; the burger is composed only of its traditional elements (the bun, the meat, the pickles, etc.). However, each element is executed to perfection. Veselka means rainbow in Ukrainian – and their burger is a true pot of gold!
